The Role We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer to take ownership of end-to-end features on our healthcare platform: a hybrid React + Ionic application (web, iOS, and Android), a serverless API layer, a GraphQL and SQL data layer (Hasura/Postgres), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) deploying it all. In this role, you will:
 

• Build an exceptional product that makes a real impact on people's lives: your features—from the data model to the mobile interface—will be used daily by thousands of patients.

• Have true autonomy and full ownership of your solution, from interface to infrastructure. Solutions come from you, not from a rigid spec sheet.

• Interact directly with stakeholders to scope needs and bring your own ideas to the table.

• Own what you deliver: monitoring, incidents, technical debt. You build it, you run it! You break it, you fix it!

• Within the same week, optimize a Postgres index, fix a mobile build, and tweak infrastructure: versatility is at the core of this role—and that’s what makes it fun.

 

Candidate Profile

• Senior Development (5+ years): Professional experience in software engineering, with products shipped and maintained in production.

• TypeScript & React: Strict-mode TypeScript, React (hooks, memoization, context state management).

• Serverless Development: Firebase Cloud Functions—cold starts, idempotent handlers, event-driven workflows, secret management—and runtime validation (Zod) for everything crossing a boundary.

• Full-stack GraphQL: Apollo Client on the frontend (cache normalization, fetch policies), backend consumption, generated types (codegen).

• Relational Modeling & SQL: Hand-written Postgres migrations—indexes, functions, performance optimization—not just relying on an ORM.

• Multi-cloud: AWS (ECS, RDS, IAM), GCP/Firebase (functions, auth, Secret Manager), and Azure (DevOps pipelines) managed with Terraform. Being an expert in a single cloud is fine, as long as you're eager to work across all three.

• Third-Party Integrations: Connecting ~15 services (Twilio, Zendesk, Clic Santé, payment gateways, eFax, CRM). OAuth expertise and a drive to tame new systems.

• Git Rigor & Code Review: Trunk-based development and strong written communication.

• Stakeholder Communication: Ability to explain technical choices clearly, frame business needs, and advocate for your recommendations with non-technical stakeholders.

• AI-Assisted Development: Fully embraced AI tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent), skilled at scoping tasks for AI agents, reviewing their code critically, and building your own tooling (agents, skills, MCP servers).

• Healthcare Data Security: Strong PHI/HIPAA reflexes (audit logs, least privilege, zero secrets in code, OWASP) and the judgment to slow down when a change affects patient data. Knowledge of Quebec's Law 25 and PIPEDA is an asset. Our environment is ISO 27001 certified, and we are working toward SOC 2 compliance.

• Bilingualism (French/English): The product is fully bilingual, and i18n is part of daily development.

• Hasura or a similar declarative GraphQL layer on Postgres (role and row-level permissions, actions, event triggers)—the rarest skill in our stack.

• Capacitor/Ionic mobile deployment: native builds, App Store/Play Store submissions, OTA updates.

• Docker & Docker Compose; automated testing (Jest, Vitest + React Testing Library, Cypress).

• dbt & analytics engineering, XState, FHIR, PDF generation.
